IT'S TIME TO UPDATE OUR WATER SYTEMS WITH NEW TECHNOLOGY FOR OFF THE GRID HOMES

Our current hot water system is gravity fed, with a hot water tank in the attic, and 25 years old.

Graham did a huge amount of research into what the best hot water sytsem was put in.  Our criteria:  We wanted to pressurise our water sytsem.  The new hot water system needed to work with our existing systems.  Solar hot water, the wet back from our wood cooker in the kitchen, with a back up of electricity for those rare occasions of several cloudy days in a row in the winter.  He settled on a system from an Austraian Owned company WISELIVING.  Family owned and run for 40 years.  They were very easy to work with and extremely helpful.  After consultatioins with our plumber, the system we purchased consisted of:

Mains Pressure MP Tank (copper) 315L which sits in the attic

TV Auto Fill Valve with Gauge

WiseLiving Roof Kit 30 tube collector manifold with pump kit

Fit Coil Fitted - 9m Solar bottom coil

Graham organised to pick it all up on our way back from a trip to Bunbartha in Victoria, when chainsaw, gloves and work clothes packed, we visited a friend to lend a hand after a big storm toppled trees around their property.

It was a 2 hour drive to Albury NSW for the pickup.

Graham had the transporting all planned, however,

there was a lot of conversation on the best way to stack the tubes.

Graham had measured the space within the back of our ute to ensure it would fit, and it was perfect.

The fellows were a bit nervous about us transporting the tubes.

But they put their heads together to sort out the best way to stack them....

And we made it home with everything intact.

And now we wait for the stars to align, with the crane, plumber and stable weather all available at the same time.   Stay tuned for the install in the new year...
